On the morning of December 12, 2018, the comprehensive renovation of Juyang River, a livelihood project in Qingdao West Coast New area with a total investment of about 0.21 billion yuan, was started. this is another important measure and practical action for the new area to practice the concept of ecological civilization, implement the work requirements of the "river chief system", and protect the water resources and environment.

Status Quo of Juyang River

Juyang River, known as Juyang River and Zhuyang River in ancient times, originates from the western foot of Xiaozhu Mountain in the new district, flows through Xuejiazhuang and Wangtai Town, and enters Jiaozhou Bay at Wuhetou. The total length of the river is 29 kilometers, and the drainage area is 128.75 square kilometers. The river is in disrepair for a long time, and the river embankment is seriously damaged, which not only brings greater flood control safety hazards, but also affects the production and living environment of the surrounding people.

To this end, according to the decision and deployment of the New District Working Committee Management Committee, the Kai Investment Group is responsible for accelerating the implementation of the Juyang River comprehensive improvement project. The project covers a total length of 8.2 kilometers from Qinglan Expressway Bridge in the lower reaches of Juyang River to the southern section of Xiaozhuyang Village in West Coast New District and the 500-meter section from the northern masonry weir of Xihui Village to the lower reaches of G22 Qinglan Expressway. The construction mainly includes channel dredging, embankment reinforcement, bank protection, slope greening, embankment crossing and water storage structures and pollution interception and remediation works, which are expected to be completed in June 2019.
